Spiritual Activities

  • Recollection for College Women (First Saturdays):
A monthly opportunity to reflect on your everyday life in light of basic Christian principles. Geared to help you refresh your spirit and strengthen your resolve to do good. Westfield’s Chaplain is available during the recollection for the Sacrament of Reconciliation and for consultation or advice. Starts at 5:00pm to 7:30pm.

  • Reflections on Sacred Scripture/Meditations (Third Saturdays at 5 pm):
Meditations are a time for prayer, directed by Westfield’s Chaplain. They offer practical ways to help you discover God and come closer to him in your studies and everyday life.

Come early at 3:30 for an opportunity to carpool to a nearby Nursing Home and visit the residents there.

  • Retreats:
A longstanding tradition in Christian life, retreats provide an opportunity to reflect on your everyday life in light of basic Christian principles, and to deepen your personal relationship with God. They are conducted by priests of Opus Dei. The retreats are designed for college women, in order to help them fuse faith with their daily life. The schedule includes Holy Mass, reflections on Sacred Scripture, talks on virtues, praying of the Rosary, and time for private prayer and reading.

    • Dates for the Fall 2019 and Spring 2020 Retreats to be determined. Email westfield.residence@gmail.com to inquire.
