the Biomed Seminar

“Expanding horizons, deepening values, and navigating your field”

who we are:

The Biomed Seminar was founded by a group of STEM majors who wished to organize a leadership and professional development program catered to college women pursuing a career in the sciences. We want to personalize medical care and uphold the dignity of every person through our work. At these seminars, we will host professionals who have experience navigating through the field and have time for further questions and discussions. Here, we hope to foster an environment encouraging reflection and critical thinking, so that we are better equipped to pursue our careers in a way that aligns with our values.

PAST SEMINARS:

“Journeying through Health Career Pathways and Admissions”

“Biomedical Career Paths Seminar”

Upcoming Seminar: Anthropology with Applications to Biomedicine

When: Saturday, May 6th from 3-4:30pm

Our Mission:

Even after years of higher education, many find themselves struggling to fully live their lives purposefully and professionally; together, we intend to change that.

We are a community of young women who aim to grow as individuals, to become leaders in our fields, and to prepare one another in a readiness to encounter today's society. Together, we will discover how to navigate our personal and professional lives with a deeper understanding of ourselves and a greater capacity to serve others.

What We DO:

Montemare hosts monthly meetings, featuring talks given by professional women on topics of either professional or personal growth. There is also time for networking and socializing, and we charge $5 per meeting to cover refreshments and other program costs. We meet every second Saturday, 5-7pm. Come join us!
